Monsters in the Closet

throughout my childhood, i believed that there are monsters living in the closet. i remember, i always had to sleep with a little light plugged in, and the door left ajar so i could flee if those monsters came out during the night. in this project, i pair these scary creatures with the garments in the closet, birthing my childhood monsters into clothing pieces, taking their terrifying image in my memories and transforming them into innocent plush accessories. this collection not only revisits childhood memories, but intertwines them with recent ones. the material, sourced from a charity shop in amsterdam, and holds a lot of memories of my travels, making the pieces in this collection even closer to my heart.
